Richard Milton House

Address: Richard Milton House, Parkway, Bridgwater, TA6 4NJ

Thorncombe House

Located in the heart of residential Bridgwater in Sydenham, Richard Milton House can accommodate up to 20 young people. There are 8 ground floor and 12 first floor bedrooms. Each floor of the building has their own spacious kitchen and living area to share and shared use of laundry facilities.

There is also a large garden with a seating area for anyone keen on the outdoors. A stone’s throw away from Bridgwater College and within walking distance of Bridgwater Town Centre young people can easily access employment, education and training opportunities.

Initially Richard Milton House was owned by Sedgemoor District Council and handed over to the YMCA Somerset Coast in 2009 so that the current residents of George Williams Court had a fitting place to stay during its extensive redevelopment. Since the completion of the new George Williams Court facility (The George Williams Centre), Richard Milton House has come into its own as a housing project for vulnerable young people facing homelessness.

Offering lots of character, it is perfect for meeting the needs of those with higher support requirements and providing them with a more homely atmosphere.

Referrals are to be made in the usual way either directly to Bridgwater YMCA or through our partner agencies.
