“It is just so handy to have it all under one roof. So if you don’t understand something on a form you need to fill out, or if it’s written in a complicated way, you can ask and they just help you.”

Other services accessible from Routes include:

Tenant Accreditation Scheme

The Tenant Accreditation Scheme equips people with the knowledge and skills needed to secure and maintain a private tenancy. Find out more here

Mediation

The main cause of youth homelessness is a disagreement between family or having to leave a family home due to lack of space or financial reasons.

Our mediation service enables young people to stay in the family home and/or to improve family relationships. Family Mediation can resolve or find a safe solution to this common problem and prevents young people from becoming homeless by returning them back to the family home where appropriate.

Schools Awareness Programme

The Schools Awareness Programme raise’s awareness of homelessness in schools. It explores the issues young people face when they are in threat of homelessness or currently homeless and increases knowledge of housing options and routes into housing and independent living.

Nightstop

Nightstop is for young people with an urgent accommodation need. The Nightstop Scheme relies on volunteers who have space in their homes, opening their doors to a young person for a short time – usually no more than 1-3 nights.
Host families are volunteer families who have been approved and trained by us. A host family will provide a room own, an evening meal and access to wash facilities.
